We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Online English Tutor to work with students on a one-to-one basis, providing personalised instruction in English Language and Literature.

Ideal candidates will:

• Use engaging and adaptive teaching techniques to support student learning

• Have a strong command of English language, grammar, writing, reading comprehension, and literature across various levels

• Be reliable, communicative, and enthusiastic about student success

• Have access to a computer and a dependable internet connection

A Bachelor of Arts in English, Education, or a related field is required, along with 2-5 years of tutoring or teaching experience. 

 

Experience supporting learners with diverse needs, including children or adults with autism, ADHD, or other learning differences, is considered a strong asset. Candidates who bring sensitivity, flexibility, and understanding in this regard are especially encouraged to apply.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare material for each student’s session based on their school’s syllabus for the academic year

• Teach the material at a suitable pace for the student, via Zoom, while catering to his or her primary and secondary learning styles as well as personality

• Provide monthly reports, to the Founder & Director of Learning and Academic Strategy, on each assigned student’s performance, noting areas of strengths and weaknesses 

• Respond to students’ concerns and questions during Zoom sessions or via email; the latter being within 24 hours

• Familiar with CSEC, CAPE & GCSE curricula

• ​Familiar with U.S. and Canadian K–12 curricula

• Highly knowledgeable in the aforementioned subject areas

Typical hours are 5 to 10 per week, scheduled Monday through Thursday, usually between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
